This opalized wood glows with deep olive green and earthy brown inclusions, where ancient wood texture meets gemstone fire. The green hints at organic richness preserved in silica, while brown traces echo the original bark and grain—each piece a fossilized moment of prehistoric life. I have used gold filled 14k overs sterling metal and chain of 20 inches long.
History of Indonesian opalized wood:
Indonesia, especially from regions like Java and Banten, is known for volcanic activity that rapidly buried forests millions of years ago during the Miocene and Pliocene epochs. Silica-rich groundwater replaced the organic matter cell by cell, creating opalized wood rather than common agatized or jasperized forms. Local artisans have long carved these unique specimens, and they gained global appreciation in the 20th century for their play-of-color and translucency, often rivaling Australian material.
Metaphysical & emotional prosperities (as believed in crystal lore):
· Olive green inclusion – attracts growth, healing, and emotional balance
· Brown inclusion – grounding, stability, and connection to Earth
· Opalized wood overall – patience (fossil time), transformation (organic to gem), and resilience
· Often used in meditation to release past patterns and welcome slow, steady prosperity
